FIS continues international research on monitoring and explaining disinformation
On March 1, 2025, a three-year international project called ClimateSense was launched as part of the EU CHIST-ERA program. This project will focus on researching methods for monitoring and explaining disinformation, building upon the earlier CIMPLE project (completed in spring 2024), but this time specifically targeting the field of climatology. Artificial intelligence tools as well as components of multidimensional geographic information systems will be developed and adapted for this purpose.
The project consortium, led by Prof. H. Alani from the Open University (United Kingdom), also includes partners from France, Lithuania, and the Czech Republic (FIS VŠE). The FIS team, led by Prof. Vojtěch Svátek, comprises staff, doctoral candidates, and students from KIZI, KEKO, and KIT departments, and will receive grant support from the Czech national funding agency TAČR. VŠE was tasked with hosting the project’s kick-off meeting, held on March 12-13, attended by representatives from all partner institutions, during which collaboration plans for the upcoming months were established.
