International Economics

The Center broadly undertakes research in all fields of international economics. It looks into macro-finance, economic development, innovation, growth, and institutional governance. It investigates international trade issues, with a particular focus on the role of product quality and non-homothetic demand in influencing trade patterns.

It scrutinizes financial markets, covering aspects such as regulation and white-collar crimes. It studies the effects of economic policies, consequences of technological change, especially ICT, and the economic transition in CEE. It analyzes migration and its impact on the labor market and the issue of remittances. It inspects international knowledge spillovers, patents, smart specialization, and upgrading in global value chains/production networks.
